help where is this oil leak coming from???
no its not my distributor seal my oil isnt milky and i dont burn oil or have it in my coolant but it looks like its coming from around the left side of the head is there anything else over there besides the head gasket?
Here's a suggestion. If you haven't done it already, clean the damn engine block. THEN you can accurately pinpoint where the source of the leak is. I doubt it got that filthy in one day.
Did you mean oil?
That is what you need to do.

ok since everyone likes to get smart with people for no damn reason !! the guy needs help with his car .. he didnt ask where it wasnt coming from .. GD .. anyway .. it looks like to me it could only be ur vtec or ur sensors on the left side of ur head .. try checking around the sensors it may be leaking out of the threads or something ..
I would go buy a compression tester and get some numbers. $30 to buy, or you can rent one at most auto part stores.
It's very simple to do and will take you maybe 30 minutes.

Uh. Yes he did. The title plainly says "Re: help where is this oil leak coming from???" then he points to the area where the head gasket is and says "its coming from here". So not only did he ask the question, he also answered it. There's no other gasket in that area BUT the headgasket.

Clean it real good, then throw some dye in the oil and then check again.

hahahahah!!! lmfao!!! i didnt wanna call him out on that .. but the only other thing i can think of is MAYBE the sensors which i HIGHLY doubt
Now if he wants to listen to people he can maybe save himself some time and CHECK the simple stuff first and make sure it ISN'T the headgasket.
He obviously knows the general location of the seepage/leak. I believe he was asking if anyone has encountered this before. I have on a previous single cam and also I have a head gasket lined up to do because it's leaking/seeping oil from this exact location. I say change your head gasket. Looks like it has some miles on it and a fresh gasket NEVER hurts, then if it persist I say little things, dizzy seal, vtec (doubtful, regardless of motor the vtec lines are behind the dizzy and the oil wouldn't be here if it were coming from there) check your sensors if all else fails, oring Teflon etc etc. hope this was helpful.
So you suggest going for the big (expensive if he has to do it himself) thing first and THEN checking the little things? Backwards thinking.
He asked a question, I gave him my answer.
I don't think I'm disagreeing with your conclusion it's the headgasket. I just think the OP needs to check EVERYTHING and not tell people what it is not. Because if he's ruled all of the rest out and the headgasket is the only thing left then I don't understand the point of the question.
ok well thanks for all the fast replies.. its not the dizzy because i changed the o ring already.. it is a d16z6 it has vtec but the solonoid is in the back.. im not sure what sensors your talking about.. if it is a head gasket im sure it would be way cheaper to just buy a new motor and do a new swap.. it does have at least 220xxx.. it leaks about maby 1 quart every 2 weeks.. so im going to clean it and take more pics after that.. i hope its not the head gasket.. what sensors are you guys talking about??
