Default What Tire

Have you ever went on tire rack and gone nuts trying to decide what tire to go with ? I need a new set of 4 tires for 40 mile a day NJ driving... Help me decide on the best combo for the money...

All season (205/50/15)
All season (195/55/15)
Summer Tires + Winter Tires

Please include brands and experiences as well!

Thanks

I converted the poll to a thread so morons dont post stupid **** on it...and I dont think open polls are allowed anyway.

Go with 205/50/15's for sure. How much are you looking to spend?

Dunlop sp sport 5000 in 205-50-15, hands down. Quiet, grippy (for an all season tire), and has snow capability.

I am on a relatively tight budget... I dont wanna get slicks + studded winter tires. I want the most cost effective solution... Lets say I have would spend around 700-800 a really awesome solution....

I've seen those throw around everywhere... I've even driven on a set of 195/55/15... and they seemed nice... I was reading some reviews though, do you think the walls are a little soft ?

How do you think the Pilot XGT Z4 compare ? Or the Dunlop SP Sport A2 even thought they are H rated...

Those tires are awesome...but they aren't all season... I'm worried about snow/ice driving in the winter... I've spun out one time...and I dont want it to happen again...

The A2's are a lot cheaper...they are all-seasons as well. If you want a tire like that, I would go with the SP5000's.

For snow driving, wouldn't you want a tire that is narrower? i.e 195 instead of 205? If I were you, I'd try to get some decent winters (195/55/15's) and then pic up a true summer/sport tire. I hear great things about Falken Azenis and Dunlop FM901's. I think you should be able to swing a pair for about $400 US. Then try to speend the same on witers and steelies. You'll save your mags (Imaging slipping jsut a bit and hitting a curb during some heavy snow).

This is waht I want to do this year. Of course, our winters up hear are pretty bad. I'm not looking forward to it...

I've driven in downtown montreal (pretty hilly) in like 6" of snow w/ my 205 sp5000's. It was interesting...but easily manageable.
