New CRX couple of questions
Well i just got this 1989 crx about 3 days ago. Its a base model with the 1.5 engine. Ive always liked the crx's so im excited about getting this one and looking forward to doing some work to it. I also wanted to ask some opinions on some stuff?
The crx has a stock automatic trans and when it shifts from 1st to 2nd the whole car shakes real bad, any ideas what cause this?
If I do have to get a new trans i would like to convert it to a stick shift, how hard would it be do this with this type of car.
The crx is pretty much stock all around except it has headers and strait exhaust. which makes it very loud and what can i do to make it not so loud?
I would like to put 15" rims on the car so would they fit or would they scrub? what size of tires would be good to put on?
Would like to post some pics of the car if someone would let me know how?
Thanks
Dwayne

The shaking is probably a worn engine or transmission mount, converting to a manual isnt that bad. Changing out the pedal assembly is the hardest part in my opinion. On the exhaust just add a cherry bomb muffler inline for a resonator and it will quite it down some. A good tire size would be a 195/50/15. Congrats on the car.
ok, thanks yea i was thinking maybe engine mount but wasnt sure if it would only shake like that going into 2nd gear if it was engine mount. I was planning on fixing some stuff this weekend but back glass just broke so now i have to spend money on that
Thanks for reply tho
