Ground Control Coilover Kit... knock off?
I recently purchased a CB7 to use as my daily driver. The previous owner decided to lower the vehicle; first by taking a torch to the stock springs (which came with the car, along with the stock tophats), and then by installing a lowering/coilover kit on the stock struts.
I was very surprised to find that the coilover kit looks exactly like the Ground Control Coilover Kit. It has red springs, gold spring seat, and a pinkish red sleeve. Here's the question: the springs do not have the white "Eibach/Ground Control" branding, the spring seats don't have the white "Ground Control" branding, and the sleeves don't have the white "Ground Control" branding. In fact, there is no branding whatsever, printed text, stamped, or otherwise (at least on the outside of the kit; I didn't take it off). The sleeves do have square threads, however. Is this a knock off, or is this the real deal, just an early version?
I know that initially, Ground Control didn't use Eibach springs exclusively, and searching Google for "Ground Control Coilover Kit" returns photos that don't appear to have any branding, but are from forums and websites stating they are legitimate Ground Control kits.
Also, I can post photos of them on the vehicle if anyone so desires!
What do you think? Real, or fake?

I don't think there were any knockoff GC kits that used the same anodized coloring of the gold perches, and red jack screw. The ones I have seen are not colored, similiar to Drop Zone COs coloring of natuarl/clear.. But DZ uses a slightly different looking perch system IIRC.
You could always check with GC and verify if what you have is one of their older systems. http://www.ground-control-store.com/...ontactForm.php
