StraightDETERMINATION - Show/Race Car Build Thread
Never got around to making a build thread, so finally making a formal one to continually update!

Motivation for all to never give up and build your car to your liking and no one elses!
So let's take it from the top. Bought the car looking like this.

It went throught a few stages...Scooped up some LS Meshes

AutoX on Meshes

White LS Meshes

AutoX'ing on White Meshes

LMAO! I have to admit this one....Green Meshes!!! It was Xmas time! :lawl:

Circuit 10's For a Few Days

Sport Max 501's for a minute!!

Saved up lots of $$$, pieced together a Jap Front with OEM ITR HID's and lip. Then sent the car off to Kenny's Auto & Body in Holloywood, FL for a full color change inside and out.
There's a big gap from when i painted it until now because i'm very big on come correct or don't come at all. So fast forward a year after my paint job and I finally threw down the $$$ for some quality wheels.
Long and behold....J-Line 10SL2

After slapping on the jlines, they took the car to a whole new level and I knew I couldn't bring it out with a B20 setup. So I parted out the B20 motor and the ITR tranny and dedcided to hop on the K20 bandwagon.
Six months later after being motorless, I sourced a k20z1 from a rollover (Car-parts.com FTW!).

After that, the swap parts just started pouring in...

Once I realized how much $$$ was being spent just on getting this motor in the car, i knew i had to do something about my stock looking engine.
That's where Robbie at RNR Motorsports comes in...

Sfljdmej2 had started the shave work and Robbie finished it all up. After a nice prime it was time to lay down the base.

After the base was layed, we added some House of Kolor Ultra Mini Rainbow Flake to spice things up a bit.

Once I got the car back from RNR Motorsports, I caught wind that HellaFlush was going to be hosting their event here in Miami and told myself that minute that I MUST HAVE MY CAR DONE. This was my deadline!

I officially had 2 months to completely finish my car. The interior looked like this...

and the bay was empty with not even one component installed. So i started in the engine bay. First on the agenda was buying countless AN fittings, banjo bolts as well as Flaring tools and pipe benders as well as 30' of SS 3/16th Brake line.

Once the tools of trade were all acounted for I began. I painted the subframe, the Booster, master cyclinder, and began with my first brake line.

Once both of the Master Cylinder lines found their way throught the fire wall, the prop valve found it's new home where the SRS Control Unit used to be.

After that I started running my brake lines and tucked the fuse box under the dash.

After doing the whole brake tuck, I realized these stock integra brakes and hawk pads weren't going to cut it. So after a call to Wilwood, I ordered a custom set of 12.2" Brakes!

Having a GF that's willing to help and supports the money pit = Priceless!!!

30 Days Left Till HellaFlush and my car still has NO motor!!!!

Installed everything I had stocked up on of the past year and installed it all on the motor. Called up Silky, Turtle, & Krusty Coupe and put the motor in scratch-free!

Once the motor was in, the bins of parts started showing up where the belonged on the car. From Purple Gallery Fresh Bolts to Aluminum radiators. Everyone was getting acquainted to their new home.

At this point I had already tucked my fuse box, done my own headlight harness tuck, and bleed the brakes on my brake tuck. All successful...except my ugly oem looking engine harness. After a quick call to Xavier (SilkyJohnson#1Hater) at WireWorx, I had a full custom k-series engine harness with the charge harness integrated into the main harness.

After a nice roadtrip up to Orlando, we got the harness. Once installed we started working on finishing up everything else that needed to be done. Like installing the Function/Form Suspension, and wiring up everything else inside the car.

THE Night BEFORE HellaFlush!!! Had just about 20 friends over and as Chino was detailing the car, we finished putting together the interior, polishing out the wheels again and finsihing up the engine bay!

After pulling an all nighter to get the car ready...StraightHYPE was going to be properly represented at HellaFlush and The Boat making her maiden voyage!

With Coverage from Hellaflush all the way to UrbanRacer. I was very happy with the unvailing and appreciate everyone's compliments! The car still is NOT done and when it will be, you will know. Callout section, Car show section, everyone will be getting a little bit of StraightHYPE Action!!! :llama:

Just a quick update on this shyt, I'll work on updating this more frequently as shyt progresses
Not too sure where I left off, but after the whole hellaflush miami crap (Summer 2010), I didn't work on the car much until maybe like 6 months ago. Finally got the car dyno tuned by one of the best (if not the best) tuners in Florida, Turbogixxer @ Turbogixxer Tuning. I also made this video for him as well.

Was very pleased with the car after the tune. Final numbers were 233whp/163trq. Which for a bolt-on's k20z1 seemed nice and healthy. Now with the car tuned, it was ready to hit the streets! But as you know stretched tires, aren't the greatest when it comes to traction, so I opted for a set of polished 5Zigen FN01R-C wrapped with some sticky Mickey Thompson ET Street 2 drag radials.

Once I got the car to stop spinning off a roll, it was time to see how she did at the good ol' 1320!! So we geared up and headed to PBIR for the NSCRA rd.3 (which ended up getting rained out). First pass out broke the driver side axle, pushed back to the pits, swapped axles and made it in time for the next round. Second pass out took it easy on the launch (as I didn't have another spare axle), spun all of 1st and 2nd down the track and ran a shitty 13.5, but was happy with the 108mph trap.

After raising the car to fit the drag radials and hitting up the track, I dropped it again to attend the Slammed Society Showcase at Formula Drift Rd.3 and the State of Stance/Hard-Parked BBQ Meet.

After parking lot pimpin' I decided it was time to bite the bullet and just buy some slicks. So I bought a set of oem integra spindles w/brakes from a friend and came up on a set of gunmetal lenso's with 24.5 MT slicks.

In an effort to continue pushing more power out of the stock motor, I sold my kpro and purchased an AEM EMS. In addition to switching computers, I also opted to sell my RBC and switch over to an RRC. With these new changes underway headed back to the dyno and with the help of Turbogixxer managed to squeeze 245whp/171trq out of the motor. Which is roughly an increase of 12whp and about 8 lb/ft!!

Once the car was raised and the slicks fitted, we packed everything up and headed out to PBIR for NSCRA Rd.4. First time out on slicks, took a pass or two to get used to it, but even with my slipping clutch and no step still managed 1.7 60ft's and .0XX reaction times! (Ask JayWest, he knows first hand, lol) Best pass that weekend was 12.9 at 104, but on my best launch/pass of the day i had an injector clip pop off at about the 1000ft mark. Still managed to go 13.0 and win the round. (Sucks cause definitely felt like a good 12.6/.7 run)

After having soo much fun with the slicks and driving at the track decided I wanted to go faster so started getting her ready for December's NSCRA Finals. First on the list was a new clutch to replace the slipping one! I figured..."Go Big or Go Home"...so I bought a Tilton cermetallic twin disk!

After that finally got my custom cf bezel from Paul at Next Level Performance and wired up my new cluster!

Next on the list was headlight mounted v-stack. So I bought a spare set of jdm itr headlamps and proceed to drill them out for the 3" intake/v-stack.

Started on the nitrous kit, got around to mounting the solenoid/purge, running the main line and mounting the bottle in the trunk (w/blowdown tube).

Will continue updating as I work on it!

Some updates from last night. Finally got drilled and tapped the manifold. Then took my time flaring and bending the lines to match. After which installed the rrc and also mocked up the headlight. Definitly going to look into getting a legit intake made though! cough cough RaceLAB cough cough

Few updates from this weekend!
Finally mounted the headlight and installed the v-stack!!!!

Dyno'd the kiar again today! Picked up 8whp n/a!!! **(The trq is off by about 10-15lbft's)**

After getting all excited about the increase in n/a whp I was really looking forward to what she made on nitrous! Turbogixxer (Kenny) had spent time while he was in MIR designing the map, and let me tell you, the timing...the fuel...pretty ****ing dead on! After making 4 pulls and inspecting the plugs after every pull we had the setup dialed in and I was pretty damn happy!!!
Final Dyno numbers were 360whp/346trq! and after reviewing the graph we noticed at around 7k rpms it plateaus till redline, which is from maxing out the solenoid and having too small of a feed line. I wanted to immediately go buy a -6 AN line and larger solenoid, but this setup has plenty of power and definitely going to be fun at the track, so for now just gonna get some seat time in it!
Here's the dyno graph with final n/a and nitrous numbers!

Here's also a quick video of the last pull!

Finally hit up the nearest track to test her out! Sucks it was an 1/8th mile track, but was pretty happy with the times! Definitely needs more seat time and I'm sure I'll get a 6 second pass outta her!
1st Pass: 7.3 @ 98.2 (1.8 - 60')
2nd Pass: 7.2 @ 98.4 (1.7 - 60')

lol, thanks man! Biggest thing that's kept me going... Patience > Money!
