Default 2.5" exhaust for DA

Whatsup HT,

Help me out here, I have a 94 b18c swapped into my 93 teg. As of now I am running a RMF replica header, the header has a staggered extension in place of the cat that opens up to 2.5" collector. Ideally I would like to go with a 2.5" mandrel bent straight through catback to compliment the header.

I am looking for a bolt up exhaust that has 2.5" piping straight outta the box! There is a small offering of exhausts for DA integras out there and the only 2.5" catback I am seeing are weld up kits (kteller, smsp, etc). I'd like to stay away from piecing together my own system because I can't weld and would like SS piping.

The only 2.5" exhaust outta the box that I found was made by Enkei Tuning, basically an ebay cheapo catback. The rest of my car consists of quality parts so I don't know what to expect with these off brands. I have to say that the exhaust looks slick with a burnt titanium kind of tip, but I am weary of the quality for under $200.

Help a brother out! What are some options here?
Thanks

Stay away from ebay kits. The fitment is a hit or miss... Have you tried skunk2?

I went with ebay and i don't regret it at all. lol its not too loud, but when you lay the throttel down, it lets people know whats up. But it's your choice.

Here's a video i took on my first integra, and after i sold that, i kept the exhaust and put it on my 2 door. It lined right up as well.

Think what you want, but i like the way it sounds, gives me power and I don't get hassled by Police. lol
Good luck

I believe skunk2 has 60mm piping which is like 2.36in, i'd like to keep 2.5" from the header back through the tailpipe.

Bringing back an old thread, but I am still having issues sourcing a good 2.5" catback. I did end up going with the ebay catback and upon measuring the piping diamter it was actually 2.25" ID, not 2.5" as advertised. Also, where the header collector met the 2 bolt flange on the exhaust was way off. The RMF rep header collector was wayyyy tooo big for the exhaust and the bolt holes were too spaced out.

My options now are:

1. 60mm catback like greddy SP2: I will have to cut and modify the 2.5" header collector to fit so it can bolt up.

2. 2.5" weld up kit and piece it all together, which is gonna be pricy

Sorry, but you are going to spend more time trying to find a good quality 2.5" Cat-back exhaust system, then saving money for a pieced 2.5" exhaust system. I recommend using my set up below.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/JEX-Q524A/
I am using that muffler and it fits perfectly in the stock location. It sounds really good and I highly recommend it(Made in the USA BTW). It's also chambered, so you don't have to worry about it getting loud over time.
Manufacturer's Part Number:Q524A Jones Exhaust

For the 2.5" mandrel bent piping (SS), I recommend this company. I added the 18" Magnaflow resonator with my order.

If you are going to use a Catalytic converter, the one above is the one I used. Though that Cat does not register(C.A.R.B BS) with the DA, I ended up using it anyways, for its 2.5" diameter.

THIS! get this and just have an exhaust shop weld it up and place your own muffler on there.

if you want a cheap one from ebay, this one looks like it could be the easiest to modify...

just go to a muffler shop and they will have a pile of screw ups and scrap pieces that they will sell u cheap and sometimes they will just give it to u. it doesnt matter if its stainless, titanium, or aluminized tubing. your engine doesnt know the difference. with the money u saved on the exhaust u can go buy a cheap welder from harbor freight and build it yourself.

Any reason for a 2.5" system? Style would be the only reason I could think of. If you are looking for power addition, spend the $$$ on the header. An A&R or Hytech tri-y header and a simple cat-back -Thermal, HKS, whoever makes reasonably priced quality equipment- would be my choice.

Yea, sorry i should have given a little more information. Right now the car has a B18c1 motor, Skunk2 IM, 3" Intake with bpi velocity stack, 65mm TB, RMF rep header (2.5" collector). I have a set of type R cams that I'll be putting in down the road and don't wanna choke out the system, hence the 2.5" exhaust. I would have loved to put a Hytech header but my budget doesn't allow. Even if i had a hytech I'd still be searching for 2.5" exhaust though lol

I'm considering a greddy sp2 catback for the DA, I love the sound and style. It's 60mm so I'd have to modify the 2.5" header collector to be able to mate to this exhaust. If any of you have an RMF replica header, in place of the catalytic convertor is a stepped straight pipe that goes gradually from 2"-2.5"

No problem, I went through the same thing you are. But I can tell you I am not regretting spending the money on my new exhaust, totally worth every penny. Going from my old system (2" collector to stock Cat to 60mm cat-back) to my new one, the difference in the engine's respiration is really noticeable. However, I do have more internal upgrades than you, so it might differ, but I still recommend you doing it. I posted the pictures you wanted and I'll upload a pic of the muffler itself later today.
