On so I was driving my car and my CEL comes on. It comes back CEL 3 Map sensor. Check it and sure enough, a wire had come off the connector for the map sensor. I have a spare 1994 harness, so I cut off the map sensor plug so I can extend the wires a few inches. Matched wires color to color, plug in the connector. No the car wont stay on. THe car will start, then die one second after.

My question is are the connectors different? I have a feeling the colors are switched left to righ between the connectors. Same colors, but different order? I tossed my old connector so i cant tell

Why do you not just get the MAP sensor for the car?

 

Because the map sensor isnt bad. The wire broke.

 

I finally fixed it. The plug on the map sensor had the wires in different order then my dx. My buddies 97 EX had it different too. Wierd stuff.
