Article: The great tool list!
The great tool list.
The great tool list is a bit over-exaggerated, i could list every tool you could ever want, and go for broke.. however most of us are exactly that.. broke. So lets rephrase, and say the good tool list.
Like anything in life, it needs a place to call home. So before we get into sockets, wrenches and more.. lets find our new tool collection a place to call home.
tool case, tool box, hang them up.. lots of options.. you want to look at how you work on a car. Do you throw down your tool box in the driveway and get to work.. do you bring your car into a garage and work with a bench behind you?
I like a small, portable tray.. i know every tool i will need, so keeping it small and simple is best. Keep in mind cost.. this is literally just a metal box to store tools in.. it has no function. Don't try to impress people with a six foot tall box, when you're doing oil changes. Don't be that guy.

Locking pliers, needle nose pliers, penetrant like PB Blaster, anti-seize, gloves, 19 and 32 mm socket, old rags come to mind on the short list. Obviously jack, chocks, jackstands (2 or 4) and some 2x4 sections. And a torque wrench.
Maybe snap ring pliers and spare 18 or 20 gauge electrical cable and a crimper and some crimp caps too, and a torch. Spare fuses are also good to keep around. So is a pry bar. Something magnetic as well -- I love those little freebie magnetic flathead screwdrivers you get sometimes from places.
