Default smoke...

Hey a small question to throw out there... my car shoots out bluish/white smoke time to time and i looked and said that it could be fuel getting past the pistons? Im new to this so would that mean i would have to swap out valve cover gaskets and possibly head gasket? I have a b18b1 in my 91 hatch.

are you loosing any coolant/oil? what is there more of, blue smoke or white? blue smoke means burning oil which could be valve seals/ guides/rings and white smoke means coolant which is normally a headgasket.
check if your losing coolant and then check to see if you have coolant in your oil thats a dead give away that its a head gasket.
