cleaning oem floormats?
;et the mats sit in a bathtub or a kiddy pool or something for 12 hours or so in warm water with carpet cleaner + dishsoap take them out scrub them down with more carpet cleaner i use a scotchbrite brush rinse them off with a hose than take it to a powerwash soap it down with high pressure than rinse and they shoul dlook fresh this takes a while but works for me because i dont want to rent a carpet cleaner which you could do but this is the cheap way to do it
Not sure how this would affect the older OEM mats, so maybe someone with a set could offer some first hand advice....but
On newer cars, we just powerwash them. And I mean get "up close and personal" with the sprayer. A couple passes with soap, then a very good rinse, and use a wet/dry vac, then high pressure air hose with a blower nozzle to dry, and we can get even the nastiest looking mats looking new again.
Like I said, you may wat to get some advice from someone else though, as I would hate to see you blow apart your OEM mats, and I dont know if they would stand up to this kind of abuse.
