Icon2 Wheel and Tire spec Help Please!

I want to start off this post by introducing myself:

I am Richie, a 20 year old 1994 Honda Civic Sedan (EG8) owner and this is my first post!

My car is currently an entirely stock Civic DX (this means 13x5.5 steelies. Yay!)

I bought my Civic on the premise of "built, not bought" and now it's time to start building. I have a lot of plans for the car, but my main goal is to make it a fun and reliable street car that stays within the realm of CA legal.

Now, the reason I am posting here:

I am looking into getting some Drag DR-46 wheels (they are what I can afford for now, Work Meister cr01's are my dream). I want to run a wide wheel/tire set up that is free of excessive camber and will effectively grip the street for a more spirited driving style.

The wheel size offered is 15x7 10GBL. I am looking into either a 175/65R15 or 185/60R15 Falken ZE-912 (whichever will fit better).

Eventually, I plan to lower the car with a complete Ground Control coilover set up (Koni shocks and Eibach springs).

The point of this post is to ask if that set up will work or if I should look into a smaller wheel, 6.5" perhaps.

I'm still really new to the build scene (this will be my first build), so please offer any help you can. I have read some posts about wheel specs, offset, etc; however, it can all get pretty confusing when you're reading about it all for the first time.

Thank you in advance for any and all help given!

15x7 is a nice rim size you can run both 195/55(or 60) and 205/50(or 55) tire.

I would recommend any of those two sizes above, if you want notisable improvement in the traction.

175/65R14 and 185/65R14 are the stock Civic tires for 14x5 (or 5.5) rim.

I highly recommend Dunlop Direzza Star Spec Z1 if you can afforded.
There're the best tire for its price and have incredible grip on dry or wet asphalt! I run them all summer, adn I'm very happy.

Bridgstone Potenza RE 11 are may be better but they are more expensive too.
Those are the tires if you want good grip.
Check out also Yokohama S Drive, but there are not that good as the two mentioned above.

Awesome, thank you! I will definitely look into some of those other tires as well. Will I be able to get away with a 195 or 205 without any rub and only a 10mm offset? Like I said in the original post the car has 5.5" wide wheels on it right now, so I want a safe, wide set up.

Also, a 205/50 is about 8" wide from sidewall to sidewall. Is that okay to run on a 7" wide wheel? I have never tried to organize my own set up before (hence the super basic questions). Usually I just go to Big-O-Tires and have them set me up with something based on my stock setting. Also, the only vehicle I have bought tires for is my 95 Chevy S10 Blazer, so I certainly wasn't worried about wide stance. haha

I run 205/50 on 7" rim and feels great on stock suspension.

Make sure your wheels have the proper offset so they don't rub anywhere!

10 mm is very aggressive offset. I run on 42 mm.
Be careful with choosing the offset!

ET10 sounds a little low to work without some fender work (even at stock ride height)
