There is another one like it that incorporates the brake light... Saw it at s2ki.

US law requires any 1986 or newer car to have a center high mount stop light (CHMSL) btw. Not that it's likely you'll be stopped for it, but it's possible.

 

^~~ very true, you will also fail inspection in most states, mass i know for a fact you will at 50% of stations

 

I pass inspection and smog test with open down pipe and all. Only a few states give a **** I think.

 

It really depends on the state and even sometimes the county or that particular cop.

Here in WA it seems cracked windshields and blown headlights are okay, but in DE they'll pull you over, especially for the headlights, and the windshield won't pass inspection. Where I live in WA now there's no inspection, so you can get away with pretty much anything, but in other counties there's strict emissions.

 

and if you get rear-ended without one, one could potentially sue and win because you didn't have one...

 

yeah cause the other 2 brakes lights didnt do their job

 

BC all cars have to have a middle light for dumb *** drivers.
