b20vtec.com Hatchback goes 11.53@114.5
Just wanted to update you guys on the cars progress. In case ya didnt know b20vtec.com is based on long island, NY. The previous best for the car was 11.85. We went into this event not knowing how the car was going to run because charlie had just made a few changes since the previous weeks runs.
Well....they paid off.
The first run out with way high tire pressure the car it was able to run an 11.80@110. Better E.T. then we had ever seen but wasnt the mph we had hoped for. We were tottaly rushed though. I didnt have my harness on until i was underneath the bridge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Long story short...we werent ready to run yet but we had to. The car was safe to run, just not in its fastest setup.
We made a few fuel adjustments and went back for qualifying round number 2. The car felt good off the line but I missed 2nd.
Oh well...thats racing. Gotta put it behind ya and move on.
The next day (sunday) we took our time and made sure the car was ready. Still not using a 2 step method I brought the rpm's a lil higher this time, dumped the clutch and WENT!!!!!!!!!FAST!
I knew the run was good but not sure how good. The car went straight as an arrow, no sloppiness and gobs of power. I pulled onto the scales, checked out, and went to get my timeslip.
11.53@114.5mph
1.55 60 ft. time
Everyone went nuts (well we did anyways
) That was enough to ensure a spot in eliminations. We ended up being number 5. Our 1st round was to be against an rx-7 driven by a guy named angel. His e.t was a 11.20 so i had to pull a good tree to try to hold him off.
We played a little staging games but nothing serious. At one point i actually deep staged, came back to pre....he pre staged...then i went in and was ready....waiting for him.
I pulled a better light but was no match for his car. The fact that 3rd didnt go into gear didnt help. Hope its just me and my nerves (my first pro race ever) about missing gears. But charlie thinks the tranny might need new fluid and also that the clutch might be fucked (it has almost 100 runs on 24.5 slicks!!!!!) so i dont feel absolutely horrible lol....
In short it was a very succesful weekend for our team. We have secured the spot as the north east's fasest NA honda. I just want to thank chuck for letting me pilot his machine down the 1320. Its his car and he works way harded on it then i do on it.
For any more info ya guys want check out the website. http://www.b20vtec.com
and chucks car is no longer for sale.

No. that header isn't for copy use if thats the implication. Have kooks attempt to make their own designs for you without looking at it. They did a decent job on ralphy's drt race car with the exception of coming off at a 90degree angle on the twin turbo setup. I remember way back when....when we had one of the very first jdm 4-1's anywhere ...some people were going to bring it to them. thats bullshit. I'm so adament about this that i'll start reposession **** if i find out it was done.
jeff... it isnt to copy the header in anyway... the header being designed is completely differant from the one u had... we should have picture up in a couple days... u''ll see it... the only reason we want to compare them is the power output because as of now that header is suppose to be the best out there... so how to make the "best header" without comparing it to the best that is out there so far... trust me when i say it is absolutely NOTHING like it though
