Quick question about selling

Im selling my car right now and a dude wants to trade another car for it. I'm fine with that and I want to, but what would I write down for what he paid for it? If it makes any difference, I'm in Maryland

Doesn't really matter. Here in IL has to be atleast a $1 . But on older cars, taxes go by year anyway.
