if you really dont want to spend alot get an ebay kit.ive used a bunch and they make power .just make sure you at least get a good wastegate like a turbosmart they run about 150 bucks for a 38 mm . go on craigslist and find some dsm 450cc blue tops and get it tuned .dont forget your fuel pump.the walbros go for like 110 .i see ebay kits on craigslist for 400 all day

if you really want to do a budget build IMO I would go ls turbo. d15 rods are like pencils dont waste your time with it.

^ that is a good idea. IME Ebay waste gates are not all bad, BOV like the SSQV knock off do not seal though. So for sure get a real BOV.

Ebay. Sell the waste gate, BOV and turbo that comes with the kit and buy good ones. You can use the cast manifold (important to get a cast as Ebay header style will crack) and the intercooler and piping. IMO piecing a kit together is best and cheaper, you end up saving money and have the exact set up you want. First decide if you want to swap for a B16 or better yet B18C1 or if you want to boost the D15 and have a hp goal.

umm. no. do not follow this example. If you must stay below new, get quality used parts as a whole. not just one piece or another.

Stay away from ebay. To really be able to help you we need to know what your goals are and more importantly what your budget is. Give us a little more info and we can help you better

i ran a complete ebay kit on a stock zc vtec with 12 psi and the only problem i had was the ebay ramhorn cracking every month.that zc put down 235whp and 197tq . i put a bigger downpipe and a better exhaust and i jumped to 260 whp and 119 tq thats when it broke. get a d15b my buddy is running ebay **** with 9 psi and its making 197whp and 170 tq for two years now .all he breaks is ring gears. d15b vtec ftw one hard to break engine

Your budget is too low. Think about doing something else instead of turboing. Its going to cost alot more than you think.

Well, what kind of power are you trying to make? Is this going to be a daily driver?

Well like others have mentioned, you need to come up with a power goal and a budget.

Try Go-Autoworks. Kits ranging from $2000 and going up.

Then you just have to worry about getting exhaust, fuel upgrades and a good tune.

JDM Sport is one o the better ones yes. but still not as good as a quality turbo. They makes power yes but they will not last as long and in any cases cheap turbos can fail right away. It is really hit and miss but JDM Sport gives you the beat chance as for as the turbo goes.

So people still think they can slap turbo parts on and that's all they have to do? That's the EASY part.

if $1000 is your budget, i wouldn't even bother, considering its about a thousand dollars for engine management + tune.

I was pretty interested in 2 of their turbo kits but decided to make my own. Their turbo manis will crack, same as Ebay turbo kits.
