Who run's mid 13's N/A and use's it as a daily driver???
I ask this question because i am going to purchase a EG or EK civic hatchback and i want so bad to have a B18C5 engine in it. I want to keep it N/A because this engine is a beauty, and also because it better suits my driving style. I want to be able to have it run mid 13's. I really need this engine to stay streetable because it is going to be driven everyday and could be faced with anything from highway driving, city driving, and just going fast wheather it be through curves, at highways speeds or lining up at a light. I want to be able to rip a stock camaro Z28. Please let me know what i could do, or what you have done out there to get your B18C5 to these levels! Any help would be greatly appreciated and would more or less determine wheather or not i decide to go with the B18C5!!!
i have a gsr that runs low 13's daily. not going into what is done, but its NA and yes anything is possible with $$$$$
This question is up for EVERYONE to answer, but it would definately cool if peeps would be willing to chat with me about it! Other than intake/header/exhaust, what would be upgrades that could make this bad *** of an engine even badder???It needs to stay somewhat civilWho has AIM, Yahoo, or MSN that would want to chat? I want to meet the guys that actually have this engine or know ALOT about it so i know exactly what upgrades would make the most power out of a B18C5 and would still keep it completely well mannered when needed to be civil, well somewhat civil.

The key is power to weight ratio. I hope you are not planning on dumping chit loads of stereo equipment in the hatch.
Where do you plan on purchasing your motor? What you are planning is not cheap by any means (unless you got the EG/EK from grandma).

If you want to learn how to make more power out of a B18C5,
DO A SEARCH.
Nearly EVERY power adder has been discussed in the past.

Ok do you have tons of money to spend?? If not, after you put the motor in, i would reccomend getting a good header, JDM 4-1 or DC JDM one (both RELATIVELY cheap), a 2.5" custom bent exhuast with a carsound cat. Get whatever muffler you want, but i would get a ES to keep it quiet (relatively). On the intake side, just a filter, comptech or whatever you want and that should be OK.
Now if you want to get some internal mods i would suggest some TODA A's or something along the lines of that (Toda b's require more upgrades and have had problems w/snapping timing belts) but if you want to upgrade more then cams, get some new valvesprings (todas, skunk 2's, etc) some TI retainers either by portflow Jun or whatever, they are the same thing i would guess. i am unsure on whether you might need new valves or not. Or you could just get one of those head packages from JUN. Get a Hondata to tune it and a set of good camgears.
This is just based on what i have read over time. I dont know everything so if i said something "wrong" or dumb, just say so.
EDIT-Heres a b18c5 equipped civic, http://jdmhondaparts.com/autoland.htm Its the silver one

What is the retail on a JUN package? Is a JUN ECU the same thing as Hondata or are they two totally different things because it seems weird to me that you'd be able to buy all the parts and not be able to tune them with another JUN product.

Its done before. I'm putting down mid 13's passes with minor bolt ons. Drive alot local and goes to show quite often (lately) with AC hook up(a must in Florida if your gonna a street able car) Yet its more than that. Suspension includes ITR sway bars, tie bars at each corners.
adjustable shocks and coilover set up and a nice short gearing LSD tranny.
however, car does with a weigh at 2135 lbs. so, yes the power to weight ratio is a must. i say i drive about 800-1100 miles a month.
off ramp on highways are fun but light confrontion are a no no in Florida.
The C5 in such a small light car will probably run mid to low 13's with just simple bolt ons to help the motor breath better. You start getting deep into internals and so forth and you'll have yourself a little pocket rocket. I have to say this though...."MAKE SURE THE B18C5 YOU BUY IS LEGIT!!!!!" let us know how things go...cheers
