Sup.Got a 1994 ls that was boosted but my evolution wastegate took a crap on me and blew my b18 to bits along with frying the turbo. Ended up throwing a connecting rod str8 threw the block. So i ended up picking up a jdm b20 and was planning on going back n/a for a while. Everything bolted up just fine except I cant get it to run for more than about 4 seconds before it dies. I know my timing was off at first cuz it was backfiring and wouldnt start but after re adjustment I can get it to turn over and start warming up at 2000 rpm for about 3-4 seconds but it just dies before it can start idling. Everything should be hooked up correctly. I did end up using the distributor from my b18 but i dont know if that would really be a problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx

Did you use the same or different ECU? Any chance the pressure spike damaged the MAP or ICM?

 

Still running the same ecu. All the sensors seem okay but i never even considered that. Definitly gonna check that out.

 

Yup. It was the ecu. My ecu is still turbo chipped. (Cant believe I forgot). So I pulled the performance chipped out of the holder on the ecu and threw it back in and started right up. Ran terrible so I still need another ecu but i least i know what the problem was. Thanx for the help boss.

 

nice, looks like you dont need help. anyways for a chip for my b20z i just ordered one from phearable.net and it worked flawlessly, passed emissions and gets about 24-26 mpg with 98 itr gearing might be worth it to check it out
