haha former street racer too .... was at the track for the 1st time this weekend ... so far what i have learned ... unless you have slicks ... go around the burnout box .. when the last yellow lights up .. hit the gas for a good RT, and if your in the outside lane when you finish .. waite for the other guy to turn (the person closest to the turn goes 1st ) it would really suck if his brakes went out and t-boned ya ... other than that ... take some tools never know what you might need to adjust, and bring water .. not much shade out there and its hot as fIzuck ..here in alabama any way
Good luck ! post those times !

The biggest key is to relax and just learn. People usually don't turn good times on their first trip to the track. Launching is pretty much everything, experiment until you get a good launch. Dump or slip the clutch at 500-1,000 rpm intervals.
make sure u ask what lane to go in. when i went to the track my first time..i almost lined up in the pro lane. it was like a whole new world for me. everything legit? no cops? wtf? it was fun though. i've only been there once myself. i'm too busy w/ school now...im looking forward for my next run though.
when you see the third yellow light, GO!!!!!

And don't make the common mistake of thinking your RT has anything to do with your 1/4 mile time. It doesn't. When you get slip, just pay attention to your 60' time and try and get that as low as possible. The 60' time is everything.
