I couldn't do a full day of welding collectors, I normally do them between runners.

 

Looks like a job for fanuc

 

You guys should really start a fab thread, its much better then having 100 threads per pictures you take.

I would suggest a much bigger bevel on those collectors.

 

It's a 45* bevel that terminates half way through the pipe. What else is there to do?

 

I bevel all the way past to the edge (knife edge) then flatten the edge a hair.

Just a suggestion.

i bevel mine the same as toxic

 

I would like to bevel further in because I could probably weld at a lower amperage. Usually on the runners I weld between 140-155 amps and it puts a lot of heat into the material causing dark welds. At the same time, it's the only way I can see evidence of full penetration during a practice run. I said I would like to do that but I am not sure how possible it is as I am not the only one who welds here and we all have to be on the same page.

Yeah, but your using over double what it takes to get the job done. As well as over heating the part...

 

I have had this discussion at work before. I am going to bring it up again Monday. Keep in mind, I don't bevel as far as you do either.

 

Woah I should also say I use pulse too, not direct heat.
