What is the normal cold engine idle speed on a D15B?
Years ago I remember adjusting my Fast Idle Valve because my engine would run at 2000 rpm when cold and I wanted it to be lower so now it idles at 1500 rpm when cold.
I have a problem that shows up every now and then where, when cold, the engine loses power and after a second or 2 it kicks back in. With the way it acts I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the fuel or intake system so I started thinking it might be caused by tinkering with the FIV. I'm not sure but I want the cold rpm to be at proper specification so is the cold idle rpm supposed to be 2000 rpm?

The manual doesn't specify what it is, it just says that the Fast Idle Valve is adjusted at the factory and there is no need to adjust it. Unfortunately I didn't look that up before I adjusted it. Maybe I'll just buy another one.
The manual doesn't specify a cold idle speed because it varies with temperature, to a point. Only adjust the idle speed of a warm engine.
