Good short shifter for 1997 LX
I'm not really liking the throws on my Accord anymore, so I was wondering what would be a good, legit short shifter, preferably under $100, but if not, I can ask my mom how much we can spend this year for Christmas. Thanks in advance.
I bought my PSPEC true short shifter before they discontinued it(lucky me), but it was $210.00 when I bought it. Forbidden has them for the 5th Gen Accords too, but I don't know if they're still making them for the Accords and it ain't cheap though.
PSPEC VS Stock:

The only cheap short shifter I see are the gay adapter ones on Ebay.

That's a bit too steep, but I'm sure it was worth it. I looked up some more and I saw like the shifter "stick," not sure what to call it, but they were like $50 or something.

Alright, it's either an adapter or this thing.

There's a guy on Hondasociety right now who takes stock shifter from the 94-97 Accords and cut them down, so that you get that shorter throw and looks alot shorter. Does work I believe. He called his short shifter "Tom tom short shifter" if I'm not mistaken. Haven't seen him get on much, but I think he still does them.
Best true short shifter was PSPEC til they discontinued it. It has that nice firm, and crisp feel to it when shifting. Glad I got mine.
So should I just get an adapter? orrrrr...one of those "stick" things, still not sure what to call it, or both? Grrrr, so confusing, I was thinking about brake pads too, but that's a whole 'nother topic.
There are 3 options
Forbidden (no longer made)
Pspec (no longer made)
OEM Prelude
Anything else is going to be crap and not worth it. Your best bet is to find a used one for Pspec or 4bidden, but they are going to cost some money.

I personally have never understood the need to get a short-throw for the Accord.
I can shift mine plenty quick if I need to and it's an Accord... unless your putting down power and going to the strip I'm not seeing how it's going to help a whole lot.
Don't get me wrong, the PSPEC looks like a nice unit. I myself just don't see the need. I'd rather spend the money on something else.
Good luck to the OP anyhow...
Also, those adapters should be banned by every governing body.
