Default 1st Gen b16a Ef problems!!

Sorry about my first post, i just noticed that i put it in the wrong category. So IGNORE that! here's my corrected version.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey guys, i've owned my 88 civic w/ the first gen b16 swap for about two years now. I bought the car with everything pre-installed so i'm not the builder of this specific build, but i have learned a lot from it.

My car was acting perfectly fine until about four months ago whenever i installed a set of 6000K HID Headlights into my Ef. I drove the car with the newly installed HID'S for around two to three months until all hell broke loose. I was driving down the street at night when i noticed my dash lights began to dim and my clock was almost completely black. Alternator. So i purchased a "used" ls alternator(since i'm 0BD1) from a friend of mine and installed it. The problem was fixed momentarrily, and i took the HID'S off and went back to stock lighting just to make sure it didnt cause anymore problems.

A few weeks went by and i noticed my original battery was then dead. So i purchased a brand new yellow top duralast battery with proper specifications for my car and put it in.

The starter then needed to be replaced! Like within weeks after installing the new battery and alternator my starter went out. So i now have 3 new components all being my battery, alternator, and starter.

PRESENT: On a daily basis i have to charge my battery with a battery charger just to get to and from school and work. Like every two days it HAS to be charged or it simply will not work long enough even for me to drive up the street to the store.. its ridiculous i know. But i've replaced tons of grounds, i've installed new spark plugs and i JUST installed a 100% brand new alternator into my car and the problem still is there and continually ruining my honda experience.

Helpful Specs: P28 Ecu, 95 integra VTEC alternator w/ 90amps, battery re-located to the back, tachometer w/ shift light in the far left air vent.

I would highly appreciate any help that any of you may have to offer, because i simply cannot go like this much longer. The car runs like a champ minus the fact that it Can and Will not hold charge to save my life. I'm not the best mechanic but i have a very good understanding of my car and all of its components. So please feel free to ask questions if needed. Thanks guys!

and sorry my post was so long lol. Much to tell!

Get the alternator and battery tested.

My alternator is 100% 0EM Brand new, and my battery has been tested positive on three different occasions. But i found a terribly loose wire going to my starter just now, so i'm hoping that this is it.

holy crap man!!! I'm sooo glad you found me then haha. We have to conquer this monster together!

Yesterday i thought i found the problem, but by driving to school today i realized i'm still flagging a battery light, and im pretty sure my battery will be drained when i get home and put it on the charger to check.

I replaced both my positive and my negative battery connectors and stripped away the bad copper. and then i re-wired my negative battery wire that goes to my starter ground because the two were baaarely hanging on.

But no luck. Help!

fixed! the voltmeter is my best friend in the world haha. my dads friend is really good at wiring and he came by and located my problem in minutes. he had to re-wire my hot wire from my battery to a different location because where it had been moved to before was causing it to make my battery run at 12.1. sooo happy haha. thanks for all the help guys
