Default Help! Starting Suspension/Stiffening work on 99 SI

Hey guys. Well, finally starting work on the car. I first want to stiffen up the car and take some body roll out. What front and rear lower tie bars do you recomend if there is any available. I was thinking of going with the beaks kit for the rear sway. What would you guys recomend for the front. Also, what about the front and rear upper strut bars.

I'm going with the Zeal or Truchoice Stage 2. I do mostly Autocross.

Any help would this would be great

i also drive an Si ('00)

the front sway is MORE then sufficient, this does not need to be changed. i run the Comptech rear sway with integrated rear Tie bar....thing is a beast (23mm) and is adjustable with three settings. Its a bit pricey but by far one of the nicer pieces on the market.

as for strut bars, again the stock OEM front is MORE then sufficient, this does not need to be changed unless you are going for asthetics. its proven its worth time and time again. its the same as the CTR and does its job fine. rear strut bar, i run the Mugen, its also a bit pricey and i dont think its worth the money. get a good set of shocks and do the rear sway and i think you;ll be more then happy

Thanks for the reply

I've been reading up on this and read alot of people saying that the rear underbody needs to be reinforced or else the swaybar can tear it up. Will the comptech cause problems?

I also was looking into the Mugen Bars, might be a bit too much, so maybe the Spoon Bars.

Anyone else have something to say?

If you want a cheap but good setup for the rear, I suggest:

ITR bar with Beaks kit.
Cusco/Carbing lower tie bar.

Front strut bars are pretty much the same except for the Carbing Type 2.

Who carries the Cusco bars?

I just got done looking at the Beaks kit. Is the Si underbody that weak? So I take it the comptech kit would ruin the underbody?

Found the Cusco Bars

Who carries Cusco Tie Bars

I also found an HK site that carries Carbing, but can't read the page. Can someone point me to the right site where I can see Carbing Bars and Tie Bars.

Any help would be great

Which Zeals are you looking at running B2's or B6's? I have only heard great things about the ITR rear sway and beaks kit combo. I plan on this mod myself. I have also heard great things about the comptech setup. I have never heard of the comptech ruining the underbody.

Comptech kit works very well, never heard of any problems.

ITR/Beaks and Cusco lower tie is just a cheaper alternative that should work just as well.

Leo (ITRinEJ1) sells the Carbing and Cusco stuff.
