Default Exhaust help

Ok i need help picking out a new exhaust. Im looking for something with more power in the lower to mid RPMs. Is it ok to go with 2.5in diameter piping or will i loose all my low end acceleration. If anyone could give some opinions of which exhaust would be good. Also could i hook up just a muffler to my stock piping that has a 2.5in inlet and just use a reducer to fit it on the stock piping. Will i still get a low pitched sound out of the muffler if i do that or will it come out like a weedwacker sound? thanks for everyones help

2.5" is good for heavily modified motors only. In your case, I think you should first decide where you want your vehicle to be in terms of power and then make your decisions from there.

For example, if you are planning on building the motor up (and sinking thousands into it) then you may want to consider 2.5" piping and go custom exhaust... by building up I mean... 3" intake, large throttle body, port matched intake manifold, port and polished head with high lift cam and adjustable gear. That would then allow you to take advantage of the larger exhaust piping.

If this is not something you want to do and you just want to slap on an exhaust so you can sound fast then I'd suggest something nice at least like a Greddy w/ 2.25" piping.

Hope that helps. Peace.

another good exhaust is the discontinued apex'i RS. It is discontinued but you should be able to find it if u do some research. They are very deep and low tone but very quiet at the same time. My type of an exhaust. good hp gains too.
