Default Type S head on usdm block?

So I was reading into Type S cams and saw that the lobes and valve guides will get eaten away because of some clearance issue between the type s cams and usdm valves. So, is the best way to do this to install the type s cams with the type s valvetrain? or just pop a type s head onto my usdm block? Thanks for reading :0

you gotta go at least type s valvetrain...or aftermarket, but in all honest type s isnt all that....high lift yes....duration isnt much tho....doesnt create a significant gain. i gotta set im think about selling

I believe there's some reading in the FAQ's on using Type-S cams. VT is certainly an issue, but I believe valve-guide clearance is also an issue if you are trying to put those cams in your USDM head. Iirc, the primary lobes are the same as the USDM cams, so you're only gaining on the top-end anyway. Better off getting some aftermarket cams that will give you power across the board.
