Exhaust in car. Can't find fix
Hi,
I know my car burns oil, about 1qt a month using lucas and 20-50
I could sometimes smell the oil burnt but it was never too bad
Recently I had itchy throat then slight headache when I drove it.
So I haven't driven the car.
I checked all exhaust gaskets and vacuum hoses
I've been planing to swap the motor out with an hmotors low mileage one
so I guess I have to do it now.
The only thing I'm worried about is if this doesn't fix the problem
Any tips on where exhaust might be getting into the car?
Causing my headache itchy throat.
Could it be rich?
car is 91 crx

aem cold air
test pipe

get a fog machine and hook it up to your exhaust. the fog will come out of any hole or leak in it. its possible what you're smelling, however, is oil dripping (or pouring) onto your exhaust
Yes, some did drip on the header, because I checked it before I drove that day. But I haven't driven it since.
I did a search and some guy mentioned a gas line leak from the return line.
I'm hoping it'll just be simple to swap the motor out.
I haven't checked for oil leaking onto any of the exhaust though, just that little bit that fell from the dipstick onto the header
Also. I rebuilt the head hoping the oil burning would stop but it only made it worse (forcing the oil passed the rings)
So gas and oil mix happens after an oil change 2 weeks later.
