Default First attempt at welding butt-joints

Finally got to do some wedling since the last group of pictures I posted. This time tryed to do some butt-joints. 1/8inch thick with a bevel on both sides useing .045 filer rod and machine set to 60-65 amps i believe I foegot to look before i changed it lol. They came out pretty good in my opinion for my first time. However I still had a litle issue with them warping it warped very little but still warped. I tacked both front back and middle to try and keep it from warping. what do you guys think.

Looks like you need to move a little quicker and possibly turn down the heat. How did the backside look?

This is what i was thinking. The beginning looked good but it seemed like you slowed down a little towards the end.

Theres are the pics of the back side this is at about 55-60 amps or so. Is the little bit of warping i'm recieving due to me not moving fast enough. or to much heat ?

I think preheating would help with the warping problem, and a little to much heat.

Ditto, too much heat in the material.

Looks like you brushed/cleaned up the welds after, which you shouldnt have to do.

Takes time, and a bunch of practice, but you will get it.

Also, make sure your using a gas lens. They are a must.
