Icon2 EG Complete Repaint... Sanding or chemical remover??

Hello

Im starting a EG rebuild.. ( thread = https://honda-tech.com/forums/appearance-build-threads-122/my-new-project-cpls-eg6-rebuild-2995281/ )
and i will redo all the paint... int + ext.

What you guys think about chemical paint remover? Im thinking about using that to remove the paint off...

The chemical remover will remove the filler too?

What are the cons of using it?

Or it's better to sand remove it ?

If it were me I would start by checking the frame is straight so your new panels match up, looks pretty beat (I wouldent do that much dolly/filler time personally)

Wow, honestly that shell is way too much work... You will be MUCH happier if you just find a new shell in better shape.

To work on that thing I would have the whole frame chemically dipped to remove everything but metal, and then you still have you work cut out for you just getting everything welded up and striaght.

Yeah, I read through your thread and saw it was just red dirt....but still

It's a lot of work, but I guess it depends on the price of a new shell vs. your experience level and availability of tools.

heheh

Yah.. i understand.

A new shell is hard to find.. i shoul be able to find a "ok" car to start..
But will pay 3x more than i paid for this.. and will go back to this same level... i want to do a complete repaint on the car to leave it brand new

Lets continue on the main thread..

And you will pay 3x what you paid for it in getting the front end straight alone (the correct way), so you could've just spent the extra on a good shell.
