Out of Kearny NJ. There was a P72 Neptune ECU in there with the serial number written on it.

I've been keeping an eye out on B20 and craigslist. They found it yesterday.... the last pic shows it the first pic is when I got it. I have 40 pages of receipts for my insurance company to wade thorough....

Anyone have experience on dealing with insurance companies in this aspect. I've only had the car for four months and have boatloads of receipts for all the parts. They haven't even seen any yet and I'm already starting to get the "Well, some parts you purchase for your car are needed for it to run and they generally aren't covered.".

I've refreshed this entire car from Engine, Suspension, & Brakes in 4 months time and can already feel the shaft coming.

Anyone have any advice for dealing with insurance on this?

They are telling me the car is worth $6k. If I found a 2000 GSR tomorrow with a fresh rebuild of motor, trans and suspension for that price I wouldn't know what to do with myself.

I have legit parts receipts above $4k and paid $5k for the car, plus labor for all the work. I'm not looking to rake anyone over the coals, I just want to get what's fair.

Could use any and all the input you guys may have to get my ins company to play ball.
They are trying to tell me that rebuilding a motor is considered a regular "maintenance item". I almost f*cken launched my phone across the room till I realized I was arguing with a script reader.

Almost 10 months later I finally got this resolved. Didn't get what I originally wanted monetarily speaking but I did get a better offer and some concessions they weren't budging on.

Cost me some money in attorneys fees but it basically became a matter of principle at this point. So if you're legit and can wait for what's yours... do so!

It's rare to get above the actual value of your car when something like this happens form the insurance company unless you actually had the car appraised after it was completed. that way the insurance company can make a note of actual value including the aftermarket parts, and not just retail value of the car.

I know, I hadn't had the appraisal done because I still had a few more items to finish before hand. But this was truly a lesson learned and I'm fortunate I was able to get some of it back instead of the joke they offered me initially. I had more than enough evidence of all the work done with receipts and photos. That likely had a lot to do with it.
