2001 does not budge over 3000 RPM
Clarification, please. The car will not rev over 3000 rpms? Does the needle bounce when it gets to the top of this range or is it a smooth curve? How does the engine preform below this? Smooth, rough, stutters?
Does it do this while driving as well as park?
Automatic transmission or standard?

YES the needle bounces as the rpm hits 3000 , as it says stop stop thats the end of the road ,, but reduce speed ,,, it move norammly , yes it does them idle or moving ,,, but some times ,,, when the car is OFF for more than 6 hours ,, this thing dissapear.. it comes back after a while say 10 min of usuing the car by the way < the engine check is on _ i have noticesd also that when i remove the negaive battery ,, for 30 minutes at least ,,, and connect again ,, the engine check light goes away ,, and the rev above 3000 noramlly ,,, but still will come back after awhile

i have also noticed that,, after i remove the negative termnal and connect again ,, as i said before this problems goes away for a while ,, what makes it come back faster is turning on thr AC
Moe,
The first step to isolating the problem will be 'pulling the code' that your Check Engine Light is alerting you to. Get a scanner (most auto shops have one they will allow you to use) and pull the code. Tell us what that is.
It sounds like the computer that reads all the sensors and controls engine functions has gone into a condition known as 'Limp' mode. You can do a search here for more information. Basically the computer thinks something is wrong with the engine (or is not getting a critical read from a sensor) and is limiting the amount of power the engine can produce to protect the engine from failure.
When you disconnect the battery for about 30 minutes the computer will reset and the codes will go away until it reaches the condition that triggers the code/s again.
This is not a mechanical or electrical failure of your engine. It is a computer/sensor issue. You need to find out what the computer is seeing (or not seeing) that it makes the decision to put itself into limp mode. Pull the codes and go from there.
