CRX HF didn't have a rear swaybar, how do I install one?
I heard the HF didn't have a rear swaybar. How do I go about installing one? do I just get the appropriate DX/Si brackets and bolt it all up?
or is there drilling/machining/welding involved?
thanks

It will still not bolt up if you get the Si/Dx rear lower control arms. Your going to need some brackets welded up where needed to properly secure the sway bar in place. G/L
If you are using an OEM swap bar reuse the factory mount brackets. The holes are there on the HF but the nut are not. I have done this on my HF. You can use a hole saw in the rear wheel wells to access the area to add nuts for the sway bar bracket bolts. Then cover the holes with round hole plugs.
I dont know how to explain this any better, pictures would help but I dont have any of the process.
This the only picture I have of my HF with an Si rear swap bar.
Just on the other side in the wheel well I drilled a hole to access an area to get nuts in there or you can use bolts

Here's how you install the bar on a DX/HF.
How To: install a rear sway bar in your HF/DX OEM style
Personally, I saw I'd have to drill into my HF and I decided to pick up an ST bar instead. Going to have to sell my Si bar.
Pic of where you drill, though there are more pics in the thread linked above.

You can do what the guy above did or you can drill holes through into the trunk/hatch area and get the nuts through that way or you can use the brackets for the rear tow hooks and combine them to the sway bar brackets by welding and use the bolts and nuts that are for the tow hooks.

The pictures the guy posted two posts up from mine cut out a section in the side of the frame rail that cant be seen in the pic and that write up drills the holes from the trunk.

wow thanks for the responses.
so i have two options - drill holes and bolt up an oem SI swaybar assuming i can find one and all of it's brackets/hardware OR pay +/- 200usd and get a stillen ST bar that will bolt up to tow hook locations.
i'll cross this bridge when i come to it but i think it'd be easier to just get ST aftermarket bar and bolt it up to tow hook locations.
ST bar is adjustable, oem Si bar is one-size-fits-all and has no adjustments...
assuming i drill holes and mount up the Si oem brackets - do i have any options for sway bar stiffness? or i'm stuck with what honda designed cuz the brackets are one-size-only?
what if i drill and mount oem si brackets and want a different swaybar entirely?

As long as you stick to an oem bar it will work out just fine. You can use the 15mm and 16mm 90-93 integra sway bars as well. I flipped my brackets around on my sway bar and used the tow hook holes when i put my oem Integra sway bar on my sedan and hatch. Its kind of hard to explain how i did it but i didnt want to drill holes in my car.
if you want adjustability use this progress bar its a very straightforward install too

Oh, and the ST arm used to be gray, then they changed it to bright green, but the one I got has the new logo but is gray.
@project_ED3
i understand what you're talkin about. i'm not super concerned with rear sway bar tuning, but i want the option. having an integra option is nice. i don't want to drill holes in my car either and the rollcage will be adding weight so a stiffer sway bar will be needed (probably)
@TearSDMF89DX - it's nice to have that other option. seems like a viable one i'll add it to my part notebook list.
@NOFX adjustable is nice. brightgreen bar isn't too appealing for that sleeper look, so it will probably get a nice coat of flat black paint along with the subframe brace, and rear lower tie bar. and rear LCA. and Koni yellows. and GC springs.. and uh. black es bushings. and anything else that isn't black and grungy and old looking under there.
one by one i am solving the issues between now and owning this car fully built. car will be purchased between nov 22 and january 1.
thanks to everyone who has helped

lol It's really close to that already. I had to get close up to see the color difference, but so far I've only had it inside. Under the car you probably can't tell.
It's not battleship gray or anything. It's DARK.

so from my research it looks like the ST rear sway bar has brackets which make it's outer-connection points on the bottom pinch bolt of the shock - correct?
I'm lookin for a bar which connects as far out toward the wheel as possible. With a cage welded into the car and possibly 180lb of 15"sub, fiberglass box, 3 amps etc... i'd rather attach the bar towards the wheels, instead of 2 inches in where the oem bar would mount.
thanks!
