How much psi, is Too much on stock sohc injectors, running 8 lbs of boost?
I have stock sohc injectors and am running 8 psi with my greddy kit including the blue box. I just got a walbro 255 and now have the ability to adjust my fuel pressure. right now it is set at 50 psi with no vacum and goes up to 60 psi. Is that too much for the injectors. I honestly couldn't feel to much of a difference with the increase in psi but it does seem to run alittle smoother up high. It still dosen't feel very happy at red line and I thought that would help the situation but i guess I am missing something. I don't want to say that it is detonating because I have never been taught what detonation sounds like but it is a very light tinging noise only from 6500 to redline(7200). I have plenty of fuel so I am very confused. I Know that I could deffinetly use bigger injectors but that would require too much money right now. The only other thing I can think of is the timing. Is it required to retard the timing when I am only running 8 lbs of boost. If anybody can help with any of these issues I would be so gratefull!! Thanks for your comments
Yes 8 psi is to much with the blue box and stock injectors 7psi is the highest you want to go at the moment
I think the tinging noise is detonation...if you are using stock injectors and the bluebox, I think you are not getting enough fuel at 7psi, let alone 8. isn't the blue box supposed to work for ~5.5psi?
