i had a 94 hatch that i put an h22 in, ran mid 13s on street tires, and ran nearl a second faster in the 1/8th on slicks. it was a LOT of fun to drive, i regret selling it.

If I had the cash I might buy it off of you. But I suspect it has other major problems.

I don't quite understand while you would buy a car and then ask if you should sell it?

Although I guess I can sort of relate, I have some buyers remorse about my GTI at times, I really want to build an H2B Honda, but it's so hard to find the time...

ur just mr positive arent you...i bought i because i always liked those cars and a few of my friend had b motors in crx and eg's so i figured the car should be fun...the car is actually running great compression is consistent...havent taken the head off to really check it out yet, but everything seems up to par. i just sold my mk2 1.8t gti so i needed a new toy and i got it for a good price i think loll

i was just curious what people thought of the setup h22 in a ek doesnt seem to b that popular for some reason.

If you had looked around prior to posting you would have found that up until H2B kits were available H swaps were a pain in the *** to do because of the extra work involved. B series are pretty much drop in.

Also if you looked around you would see that H engines had the most horsepower (not counting any J-series) and torque until the K series came out.

i just swapped out the trans and it seemed pretty straight forward.

and ur making my point why would people choose the B series motors over the H22 if the H22 has more power/torque/bigger displacement??? i know that the the k series motors have head design allows em to flow much higher volume of air but the H motor was around for a long time why wasnt it used??? keep in mind i'm a newbie to this honda biz.

or is this one of those questions that will never be answered?? lol

You did not read anything I said. You had to hack **** to pieces, and puzzle piece together axles, to get the H-motor to fit. And there was a myth going around, THAT IS STILL CIRCULATING, that the H-series was sooooooo much more heavy. Both those things made an H-swap NOT popular DESPITE the prospect of having a car with a heart transplant in it that would eat Type-Rs for lunch. Now that B-series are dirt cheap, and every kid that still lives at home with his mama can afford one, it STILL makes B series more popular.

Very true. Now with an H2B kit you get the power of the H series but it pretty much drops in like a B with some modifications. Also, B series transmissions are better/have better ratios than H series. Having said all this, I'm sure you've go a fun car and the swap is already done for you.

The weight difference between H and B is something around 40 lbs I think, you can find it if you search, plenty of people have weighted them now.

cool beans...tx for the info

so thats why people stick to drag racing them cuz of the weight "issue" i just did a little bit of research and it seems the h motor is only about 35lbs heavier then the b motor...seems forth the extra weight for the extra power.

and i do get the why people would go w the b series motor i guess.

off to the tire shop to get the alignment done...tx for the info

the H series doesnt really have that much extra weight people over exaggerate it way to much they're acting like it has 120 more pounds but it doesnt theyre really fun to drive i had a H2B EG with a Type R tranny it was fun as S*it

I agree, a simple battery to the trunk operation can get you back to stock or better weight distribution. If you go H2B the b-series tranny is a little bit lighter as well (although I guess this may be negated by the adapter plate thing). Hope you're enjoying the car.

We'd prefer if you went back to Subarus and Volkswagons if you aren't smart enough to know if you like this car or not.

Ive done a few H swaps. There is absolutely nothing wrong with them.
They are a little more work to complete, but not bad at all. Other than that, they are like any other swapped honda: Quick and reliable.

If you enjoy the car, I say keep it.
