help, im fustrated and bout to give, temp gauge acting like a boost gauge
ok, heres the story
My car was running fine on 7 psi boost, but i wanted to install sum arp head studs so i could go higher on the boost later. So i took the head off, installed the studs and put everything back together and went for a short ride(no boost yet)... car ran excellent, so i decided to boost on it and it felt good, but when i came to the stop sign, there was steam everywhere and my temp gauge was at the red, so i coasted back to my driveway and the temp had already came back down so i pulled into the garage and felt the lower radiator hose and it was ice cold... so i figured i blew the head gasket and needed a new thermostat....
Installed new thermostat and got a new head gasket and put everything back together and went for a short ride(watching the temp gauge closely)..... the car runs and drives fine UNTIL IT BUILDS ABOUT 5 PSI BOOST then the temp hand starts to climb so i let off the gas pedel and the temp gauge returns to normal............Everytime I step on the gas and it starts to build boost, my temp raises just like a boost gauge and i let off the pedal and it instantly returns to normal, So i figured i had warped the head from the first time it ran hot and maybe cylinder pressure is getting into my coolant system.
I ordered new Arp head studs and i took the head off and took it to the machine shop to be checked... They pressure checked it and it is fine, but they did have to shave 6 thousandths off of it... So i figure that that was my problem, .. so today i put the new arp studs in, and put the head back on and went for a short ride....................AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE!!.... soon as it builds about 4 or 5 psi, the temp raises, when i let of the gas, temp comes down instantly.......I even changed the temp sender in the head and i get the same results....IM SO FUSTRATED and bout to give up....what am i doing wrong?
p.s...... the heat in my car doesnt get hot, it only geta warm

Without knowing how you are assembling everything I would have to say there's some user error causing your problems. Possibly consider that the block may be cracked. Water pump working?
ive been into b motors for about 10 years now and never had a problem like this, i always follow factory torque specs and ARP specs.....Im bout ready to just pull the motor and get another one
i took a quick video of what my car is doing

Looks like an electrical problem... Are you sure the car is actually overheating?? There is no way that coolant temp can rise and fall that quickly. PERIOD. Take one of those IR temp guns to the upper rad hose & water outlet on the engine and check the actual temp.
