Default anyone here use supertech pistons for turbo application?

have always use wiseco,je and cp, just wanted to try sumthing different, the price on the supertech pistons are good so its kinda what got me looking at them but want to know about these pistons before i buy em....

are they as durable as the wiseco's or je's?
what kind of material are they?
how much do these pistons expand when operating in extreme conditions?
are thier piston rings durable?

do they carry something under 10:1cr for the 81mm size? wanted 9:1cr unless 10:1cr is good too.

anything i should know plese fill me in.

it's not going to be a big power motor trying to keep it around 400-450ish

set-up will be

GSR head
ITR cam
gt3076r turbo
LS block stock sleeves
81mm bore
LS crank
eagle rods.

I just spent a few minutes on google and I found answers to most of your questions. Were you looking more for opinions?

I used Supertech pistons in mine until I cracked a sleeve and got a sleeved block with a different bore. They're the cheapest forged pistons I could find, and I love all Supertech stuff so I figured I'd try em. They were great pistons when I had them. They make compression under 10:1. Go to this link. This is where I ordered mine from.

I run supertech pistons in my 84mm gsr setup.. 9:5.1 compression, 15psi daily and 32psi @ the track..

No complaints as yet.. For the price you cant beat them.

A few years back miller tune a setup with some supertech to 850hp I think it was...

we talked to them at the PRI show, they said around 700 is the most they would go.

You have to have the block bored to mach each piston in it's respective cylinder, with the correct amount of PTW (piston to wall) clearance.

lol thanks I know that part, i was more concern about maybe if the weight of each pistons are not identicle or close enough to eachother and needs balancing

As long as the cylinders are machined for the ptw clearances, they just drop right in.

Is 10:1cr good for daily driven boost applications? wanted 9:1-9.5:1cr but supertch dont carry them in 81.5mm bore. whats the pros and cons running 10:1cr vs 9:1-9.5:1cr?

No cons, just pros when tuning with 92+ octane fuel so they can resist knock.

Im looking to get these pistons for my b16a 84mm shooting for 600whp...my only concern is, are the rings that supertech provides with it good? likely to go with Eagle H beams since im only going for 600....trying to keep things simple as possible....cr. 10:1 stock R/s have a great tuner who will be handling the setup for the powerband...

if i remember right supertech has their pistons made by someone..wanting to say it's either wiseco or mahle, can not remember which

edit: i knew it, mahle

https://honda-tech.com/forums/drag-racing-36/supertech-pistons-anyone-2681826/

which brings up another good point. real mahle 4032 pistons are $450/set

could be the exact same piston? if it is the rings are good and high quality steel

mahle is the world's largest piston manf. and oddly not a name we see on honda tech all that much.

I'm currently using Supertech pistons with 660+ whp. Been using them for over 3 years with no issues with the pistons or rings.

i heard they bought one of mahles factories .i called supertech one day and they said they make all their stuff. ive used mahle and supertech and there are a few differences between the two . i think supertech ships their pistons with nippon gas nitrided rings in the white boxes . i think nippon also makes rings for arias . either way they are the best bang for your buck ive used them n/a with nitrous and on boosted apps and have zero complaints. b from dfr uses them on his race car
