Voltmeter ideas for 86 civic
After the failure of the alternator which took the idiot light with it.... yes, it was undercharging, but the idiot light did not do its job..... the light bulb was good. So I am fishing on what type of voltmeter to add somewhere visible enough not to be forgotten.
Thank you,
Thank you,
I hate having bunch of aftermarket gauges on my dash but I really would like to have one too. The last time my idiot light went out and left me stranded because the car died without a warning grrr.
Theres this kit that uses a single LED as a warning lamp that changes color depending on the voltage, I don't remember the exact details but its something like green for 13-14v red >14 and yellow for <12 or something I don't remember but its a nice thing to have.
Let me try to google for it when I get home later!
edit: nvm found it: http://signaldynamics.com/index.php?...hk=1&Itemid=77

Thanks for the ideas, after picking the right spot on the fusible box, I installed on of those $5.99 battery alternator tester from Radioshack with double sided tape. The shack does not have this tester anymore, but can be found on dabay. I have them installed on the moto and the jeep for a few years.
