Hi,

I have a 2005 Acura TL 3.2 that wont start. I drove the car to work and it worked fine. When i was going to lunch my car wouldnt start. It turned over, but wouldnt actually start. Listened for the fuel pump "whine", but no noise. Replaced the fuel pump thinking this was the problem...still nothing. Checked the starter coils, and they are putting out around 6.4 - 6.7 volts...should be enough to fire up the car, but still nothing.

Thoughts? Any help is appreciated!

 

Did u even check the battery first?

 

Or possibly spark?

 

use your spare. your key might be bad and not engaging the ecu

 

i agree sounds like the immob is tripped for some reason.

 

its a shot in the dark, but is it possible the fuel pump has a relay or fuse that may be blown?

 

Fuel pump has no fuse but there is a relay for it. The relay is called a main relay and is under your dashboard on the driver's side near the fuse box. It's a big square relay with a brown bottom.

The relay looks just like this.


If you grab a test light you can actually probe the pins on the relay to see if power is going into the relay and then probe the pin that goes to the fuel pump. That's probably the quickest way to test it.


I'm almost positive your relay has a brown bottom but be forewarned that there's some that have white bottoms. Here's a couple more for reference:
