B&M Shifter Question
Quick question, I'm reusing an older B&M dual bend shifter I bought used in my Civic, the bushings from the shifter to the change rod are no longer there, if I dont use them what are the drawbacks, if I have to reuse them, does anyone know where to get a set?
Thanks

Shifter slop/potential problems trying to engage gears. I have made my own bushing out of pipe and rubber... but for longevity you would want small bearings or something of the sort. If non of this sounds appetizing - just purchase a cheap one off eBay and call it a day.
Thanks, I'm shaky on what I need to do. When I'm looking on Ebay, what should I be looking for? I did buy an energy suspension kit for the shifter but it doesn't appear to have what I need. Going by the B&M install instructions, it looks like I need additional bushings by where the shifter "ball" attaches
What exactly are you talking about? Look here and say which one...

I believe it's #5, the teflon bushings that BM references on http://www.bmracing.com/bmracing/ins...ruction/52.pdf
You mean #15? Because #5 is a washer... I am not sure if B&M shifter has the same dimension hole as stock, but I doubt it does. Like I said before - I rigged one up using a small piece of stainless/aluminum pipe (1/8" I think it was) and a piece of rubber hose to go over it to make my own "bushing". Then i think i just used whatever bolt fit the pipe the best (I think SAE) and called it a day. This was for one of my son's broke friends so it was just one of those "temporary fixes" that became permanent...
It's either a DIY project or order a different shifter. I thought at first you were referring to the cup it sits in. Most shifters don't have a "ball" at the end - only where it sits in the linkage. The DIY fix could be done for free if you have stuff laying around or for $5 if you had to buy everything...
