alright so figured its about time i make a build thread to show others what i have been doing and to keep track of my own progress, so my project is my 1990 crx hf, ive owned it since early 2007, since its been through alot of different changes, heres the only pic i could find from when i first got. its a bad pic i no but its the only one, all stock hf with flat red paint and lots of dents, no rust though, also has a pacesetter exhaust with ebay hot air intake

 

from there i started modifying things, started by getting rid of the hf engine witch was getting tired, and replaced with a z6 with lots of bolt ons and a si tranny, it was fun for what it was but i was def craving more. i was board one day with a bunch of friends and i decided lets paint my car, sanded her down a lil and spray bombed it white, (dont worry this is its low point build gets better haha, heres a couple pics of it white

 

my quest continued for power so i sourced a ls, got a complete yet in peices a1 for a hundred bucks, at this time i was attending school at wyotech, so i took an after school class for engine building where i built the ls, also found mounts and a mint b16 tranny on the cheap, i gathered all my parts waiting to do the swap when i got back home from school, when i got home the si tranny had seized up on me just b4 winter so i decided to do a real paint job/ body work to it, heres so pics of the body work

 

found mint unwarped/broken front bumper more cheap, also brand new door moldings from honda for only 50 for both

 

heres the shop all the work gets done it, my uncles garage, my race car with my other race car haha, beleive it or not the hood in this pic was a rolled on painted job, i decided was way too much work after doing just the hood and had a buddy spray it as a side job

 

so here it is all painted and rdy for a engine, also installed some side markers

 

at this point it was still winter and i wasnt driving it yet, ls was finished and i installed, full stock rebuild bottemend with crower cams and springs and retainers, also added a zex full wet ket with a 60 shot on it

 

that setup was fun and definitely put a hurting a alot of cars till this happened....... oil pump exploded internally sending metal fragments into engine, i replaced pump hoping for the best and was to late, spun a bearing about a week later

 

so i decided to go big or go home, starting saving my money for a snail kit, i peiced together my own kit, also went lsv at same time, got a b17a1 head off one of my other cars and went for it, mod list at the time was ebay intercooler kit with ebay manifold, used garrett .50 trim off a buddy, hks ssq bov, tail 38mm wastegate, arp headstuds and stock ls bottemend with 140k on it, went to get it tuned at synapse turbo in up state new york but when i got there my obd1 jumper harness decided to fall apart causing me to not be able to get tuned, they gave me a base map for my new injector dynamics 1000ccs and stupid me decided let take it for a couple drives and ended up melting a piston, so that brings me up to the current state of my crx, heres a few pics of installing/ installed turbo kit

 

Bummer bout the engine but the paint looks good. Great job resurrecting another rex.

 

so got another good ls and striped it down and sent to machine shop for a acid dip and hone job, also to micro polish the crank, orders some weiscos and eagles also, planing on ordering a doc race mini ram turbo manifold, got everything back from machine shop and everything came in the mail so starting putting engine together today, decided to take some pics

 

more pics of car, and as far as the "others" part in thread title, i have 2 other hondas, my progress will be slow cause the money coming is slow so figured id post more with 3 cars over just 1, other cars are 92 si hatch b16 swap summer dd and 90 si crx mini me swap dd for winter

so finished up the bottemend besides the pickup and pan, im going to steal the pan off my hatch, it has a moroso. then i gotta talk my uncle into letting me bring car back in shop to do the swap, also painted block and stole a type r oil cooler setup off another build heres some pics

 

btw anyone running the doc race miniram? hows the clearence in a rex? havnt seen any reviews with them
