Last night I was given a ride home in my car, so I was the passenger. The driver (girlfriend) pulled over, shut the car off, then gave me my keys so I could unlock my house. When I gave the keys back to the her, she tried to start the engine but a strange tapping noise was heared and there was a key symbol on the dash. I tried my spare key but it did not work either.
The car was in the street so I need to put the transmission in nuetral (auto tranny) and push the car to the curb. When I took the keys out of the steering column my alarm went off. The only way to stop the siren was putting the key back in the steering column. At this time, my dash lights were flickering and I had to disconnect my battery so I could finally lock my car door (manualy) and go in my house.
Can anyone help with my situation. I have a passive alarm installed from Honda so this may be a causing more of problem.
Today, I tried to reconnect the battery and the alarm continues to blast my siren. This is very annoying for me and my neighbors.

I'm not 100% positive this works for honda but chevy if you unlock the door with the key it stops the horn from blasting.
It should be explained in your owners manual if you don't have one go to the honda owners link.

Goodmorning.
disclaimer: disreguard any irritability or mis-info i might pass on, this is written before my first coffee in the morning. you have been warned
okay. let's start by the basics.
1) do you have an afetrmarket alarm / immobiliser?
i say this because you said the alarm went off via the siren. the honda alarm goes off via the horn.
this is an issue because i think 90% of the flashing immobilizer light problems i've encountered involved the aftermarket alarm box frying (you get what you pay for)
2) what is your mechanical ability like?
this is a big dead because in order to fix your car you may need to remove the aftermarket alarm (if applicable) and re-solder wires.
now that that's out of the way.
in the case of the aftermarket alarm, there is a module that disables ignition (and btw when i say alarm, i also mean auto-start) and sometimes it can be bypassed by unplugging the alarm module. take a look under your dash, remove the black cover under the driver's side dash and let me know what you find. (pictures help)
i should check this thread later since i will definitely be bored at some point today.
this is about all i can do until i get answers to my questions,
Good luck!!
