So I tried installing an EG steering wheel into my EF, and the hub was too long for the spline shaft. I wanted more thread on the bolt that holds the steering wheel in place.


Tools I used:
Philips head screw driver
Angle Grinder
Bench Grinder
Hack saw
Marker
Razor
19mm socket wrench

Then you need an EG steering wheel!



remove the front cover, there is a wire for the horn that plugs into a terminal, make sure to unplug it.

mark where we are trimming material off, just as I have done here.



remove the back cover, 3 gold screws on the inside



I used a bench grinder to grind that excess material off. There is probably a better tool to use, but this is what I did. No pics of this process, but man there was lots of sparks. WEAR EYE PROTECTION AND THICK CLOTHES.

now we have to make the two little indents for the signal cancel selector. measure and grind away as I did. I used an angle grinder. take your time, patience is a virtue. Of course, eye protection as always.



canceller should fit into the indents. EG and EF have the same dimensions for the important part of this, but the EG canceller is much larger and bulky.

good job, now we can deal with making the horn work.

remove the horn fuse from under the hood before we go further...

I bent my horn terminal thing like so. you may have to trim a bit of plastic to get it to work properly, or use a paper clip as I have heard.
