Default Where to find turbo manifolds??

Hey Guys,

Been looking around for a turbo manifold for a D series motor for a while. What are some good sources?

For example I've heard Turbonetics makes some but I can't find any on their website. I want to see pics before blindly purchasing.

I also hear a lot about SFP but not sure what that is. I googled and it seems to be South Florida Performance but can't find a website for them. I did see in one members sig on the forum www.sfp.net but it doesn't work.

Anyhow I don't mind if it's a full length or log really as long as it works well and I can keep my A/C.

I've searched ebay till I can't see straight and all their log manifolds have the waste gate on a single cylinder for D series motors and I hear that's a big no no so I'm avoiding those.
I've also heard the ebay long tubes (like ram horns etc.) are garbage so I avoid those too. Also the ebay full length ones don't allow you to keep a/c.

There's gotta be some good sources, websites etc. with pics where I can find something that will work for me and get it.

So what's all the good locations you guys use?

Thanks
Malcolm

It looks like the turbo is off set a little to the passenger's side so the down pipe will clear the a/c compressor. I've emailed them and asked for more pics. At only $125 too it fits the budget well.

They did offer to make me another manifold at a discounted price but they are still so expensive I'm looking for alternatives.

They might not have AC comp units, but I'm not sure.

This is the only shop I let touch my car, they have some of the best fab work and countless cars that appear on honda tuning.

You should have just done the log manifold, for unobstructed fitment. It "fits", but like we've discussed, you have to do a bit of reconfiguring. I guess "Fitment" is the wrong word.

The only others that are great are go-autowerks, spoolin performance (log), and rc-autowerks.

Get the "log" manifold for this, ok? keep it simple, and you do less "configuring". You'll make whatever power that little d-series can kick out with the log. No equal-length, or "shorty" manifolds are needed.

Well this sucks. I'm in for 3 manifolds, 2 turbos, 2 clutch slaves and NOTHING fits.

My latest is Go Autoworks log with the Precision 5431. I even called them and confirmed this would fit before purchasing.

Is there an aftermarket slave or some other alternative that I can use to get some clearance?

It just amazes me how these manifolds "made for D series" place the turbo in such horrible locations.

If budget is not a factor........FULL-RACE!! http://www.full-race.com/store/turbo...-manifold.html

Your turbo will be facing the cooler side and plenty of clearance !!

Thats a simple fix if its your only issue. get a 90 degree fitting and replace that line with stainless draided teflon hose, FIXED !
you wont be able to put a filter right on the turbo you wil have to put tubing extension to a place where there is more room

Interesting. When can I find such parts? the 90 degree fitting that will go in there and hose with the correct ends etc. Any links? That may work if I can find the parts.

Another option I'm thinking of is this other tubular log go autoworks has. It places the turbo higher than the cast manifold I got. I've emailed them to see if it will work better for me.

Thanks

This is the manifold I was originally stating to use from Go-autowerks. Their sch10 log manifold, not the cast crap.

As for the 90 degree coupler for a turbocharger inlet, measure the OD of the inlet and the OD of your filter. Then go to http://www.frozenboost.com to find the right coupler. They even have T-bolt clamps to use.

Im not sure what that thread is going into the slave but a simple -3an line to 90deg male to male fitting would solve your problems there

You can't run regular brained lines lightning it needs to be a teflon brake
Line. It's a 10mm x 1.0 or 1.25 pitch and inverted or reverse flare

Ah ok I missed that. I went ahead and ordered that manifold this morning. Hopefully it gets here early next week and I hope to heck it works lol.

Yeah that "might" work. Space is so tight I think that 90 degree piece will stick up in the way of where a pipe needs to go. I've ordered their tubular manifold too. If that doesn't work I'll revisit this idea.

Thanks for the specs. Is that the same as NTP threads are is a inverted/reverse flare something else?

Well my go-autoworks tubular log finally arrived. Took over 3 weeks to get it, wtf.
Anyways it's the one on the very right. Yes my forth manifold I'm trying now.

Unfreaking believably it has clearance issues with the clutch slave too. sheesh I give up lol. This one has the least amount of interference though and I think I can make it work.

Oh well. That sucks but for now it'll do to get this car running. Like I said this is my 4th manifold and it's getting really frustrating to get something that fits. I'm just amazed at how many manifolds are sold out there as "made for civic" of my model year and they each look nothing alike and all don't fit one way or another.

Too general of a statement. I wouldn't say that until it is shown from his particular setup,.. really.

Like I've said to you time and time again, they are compatible with these engines, but it doesn't mean they are going to clear everything without adjustment or acceptance that some things will be a tight fit.. Its like that with many of the B-series too. Many of us enthusiasts are just used to the requirement of a bit of adjustments..

My condolences for your frustration, however, It is, what it is.. welcome to the world of imports.
