Icon2 MPFI conversion question

I've read a ton of how to's on this subject on multiple civic and honda forums, but i keep seeing one thing that varies in a lot of the different write ups and I wanted to try and clear this up before i get to starting the conversion on my car...

I know I'll need the mpfi intake, tb, throttle cable, injectors, fuel rail, resistor box, redo some wiring, HOWEVER, heres my question. Will the stock distributor work with the conversion or do I need a new one? Like half the DIY's I've read say you need an a6 dizzy, and some never even mention a dizzy swap. Anybody able to shed some light on this subject for me?

For OBD-0 distributors...

DPFI = 5 wires
MPFI = 7 wires

I think you have your answer now.
