Just took off my rear panels in my hatch to see if the wiring was in place for aftermarket speakers like some posts have mentioned but I can't see them! Are they hidden somewhere or tucked into the harness that is on the drivers side running to the rear lights?

Also my radio is stock and features a cassette player, it also has a fader feature on the radio ****!

I looked around with a light to the best of my ability but don't see anything. No rust at least! Any help would be great, Thanks.

 

Don't know how industrious you're feeling but you can always trace them from the back of the harness.

 

I thought about that but I was expecting them to be glowing in plain view when I removed the panels Guess I can check that way...

 

fellow '92 VX owner here.

they're taped into the harness that runs to the back of the car on the driver's side, and stops at the wheel well on the passenger side. It's just in from where the inner wall and floor meet on the floor.
With the plastic on it's a blind contortionist's trick to get at it.

I found the passenger side easier than the driver's side since I could use my right hand.
If I had to do it again the rear seat would be out and the plastics would be at least loose. Seeing what you are doing is grossly underrated.

Did you have to cut open the big rigid plastic harness on the drivers side?

 

Alright I found them wasn't too bad! They are wrapped in blue tape guys which you must unravel without seeing what your doing. Also I used my cellphone camera to look down inside the panel and get a view of what I was doing!
