a "help me choose which suspension" thread :/
ok, so i've looked all over the place and read numerous reviews, first-hand accounts, etc. and i'm still as lost as i was before i started. so maybe some of you OG's can help me out in picking the proper suspension setup for me..
i own a '93 cx hatch (currently stock) and live in Ohio with crummy roads, harsh winters, and drive an hour to work and back every day. but i would like to get into road racing my car this next season (merely as an amateur). here is what i'm trying to achieve:
- daily my car but still have that slight-sport capability
- be able to close the tire-to-fender gap to no fingers - 1.5
- have a fairly stiff suspension (i am not a fan of riding like a caddy)
- be able to adjust my height during winter, blah blah blah
i know Koni/GC is proven on both street and track, and the Skunk2 reviews are quite mixed, i am not looking to spend over $1000 for my daily's suspension, but $6-750 doesn't scare me. any and all input is welcome.
i just need a suspension guru to help point me in the right direction!
thanks in advance!

thanks in advance!Keep in mind that seasonal height adjustment also means seasonal alignments. However, for any performance oriented ride height, you won't be low enough to worry about raising it in the winter, unless you live someplace such that sports cars can't actually be driven in the winter.
i hear ya, anyone have a picture of their Koni/GC setup? or any other setup for that matter?
also, Tuner, recommendations for chassis bracing, lca's that would compliment that setup?

Since we're discussing a height adjustable system, there's no reason to ask for a reference picture for height either.
You do know that any car that can actually be road raced can't really be driven on the street any more, right?
Yes, in theory, they might make an ever so slight difference. A "track day car" needs not be concerned with such things though.
Spend the money on important things, like brake pads and replacing worn bushings.
I was going to say, for 1000, just replace all the worn parts, bushings, ball joints, etc. and spend some money on good tires and an alignment. It costs a lot of money to TRULY upgrade Honda suspension. It's pretty awesome in stock form.
