92 prelude with 94 accord f22b1 sohc vtec
is this a viable option?
i have a customer here who brought a 92 prelude, he told me that it suddenly would not idle.
he didn't tell me this 94 accord engine was in it.
there's wires hanging and hoses off. . .it looks like hell.
i just put a 92 f22A1 in a 94 accord (which had a f22b2) and compared to this hack job, my hack job looks pro.
i might add that this swap was done by a shop.
the vtec solenoid wire is hanging, rad. cap is bad, throttle cable is zip tied to the plenum, ac hoses are laying in there, various wires cut and spliced.
he told me it had the wrong ECU when he bought it, i wonder if they changed the ecu to match the motor? i guess he must have put a 92 back in.
speaking of the ecu. there are wires coming from the harness at the ecu plug that run out into the engine bay . .for what reason i don't know.
he said it was running "shitty" so he changed the T-belt but that somehow made it worse.
i will check the fuel pressure in the morning (shouldn't be an issue sense there are 3 different fuel lines spliced together) then move to the I.A.C.
he claimed that it "ran fine before this happened" so that's the story i am working with.
did i mention this kid is about 17 give or take .. . his car picking skills are lacking.

egr valve wide open, not "stuck wide open"
the ecm is commanding the egr valve 100 percent open at all rpm's and all throttle angles.
dlc connector is missing*, cel is on at all times (this includes when the engine is off)
wires hanging everywhere
i'm not fixing this, i told him to pay me $30 for the diagnostic and sell it.

yep well there's more to it. . .
car was in a front end collision, had a shitty-er paint job then Maaco, bad balljoints, some kid must have tried to steal this because it looked like the driver side door was pried open with a crowbar.
the list goes on, and on.
btw i asked the kid how old he was: 17.
i gave him a fair shake and told him sell his dream car.
the trip meter read 133,xxx miles, he confessed that it didn't work. looked more like 300,xxx to me
