What do you ITR guys think of the 03 Cobra?
I visited the Ford dealership yesterday, and was checking out the new Cobra with my friend. We took a test drive and I was overall impressed with it. What do you guys think of it?
I like it, even though Im not much of a V8 domestic fan, I really like it. It has the speed, and it can use it thru turns
and its cheap

guy who lives next to me has one. just bought it in black. its beautiful if you like that type of thing. its mean and the torque is huge. think he's switching out a pulley next week to get some extra whp. all i know is for 35K its a nice, fast investment. its nothing exotic, but for an everyday driver and running high 12's its nice.

dude, they are sweet cars. Why don't you sell your ITR and buy one of those, and then you can go bother people in the mustang forums.
The power and acceleration are unreal. I couldn't really feel the difference between it and the Z06 I drove (which was the old 385-hp one). The supercharger whine is LOUD, but I like it; it is like a constant reminder that the car means business. The handling is also surprising given the age, weight, and lack of rigidity of the chassis. Those SVT guys have really turned a sow's ear into a silk purse. The interior is still offensive and it has that white trash image, but there is no denying its capabilities.

it by no means is a perfect sports car. if you like v8's and low gas mileage thats your thing, go for it. its not for me so dont know what to tell you other than go test drive one
i bet it does some mean donuts, which is about all the excitement i'd find in it.
i guess manic straight line isn't my thing though, so i wouldn't really like it.

I think its one of the coolest cars made right now.
Definatally beats the crap out of all the import crap thats out now days.
I would probably rather have a used Cobra-R though.

I don't know about that. they took a big V-8 and supercharged it. It took them this ******* long to figure that out...

Im very impressed by it. The acceleration is unreal with the supercharger. I have a vid where bone stock a guy runs a 12.2 at something like 120mph. Slap on the lightning supercharger pulley and some drags and high 11's are in the picture.

is it a roots style charger or a centrifical?
also i have to say that fors has been doing better with the mustang. its taken them some time, i dont even know why its not like its new technology. they are just starting to apply it now.
first independatn suspension which drastically helped the sloppy handling mustang. that thing handles about 90% better than before. now they supercharge it and make some more power. i wonder how it will hold up as far as racing for more than 12 secs at a time.
oh andthe response about seeing how long it holds up. i agree as far as the interior goes, ford has the worst interior and those plastic piece of garbage that clips together always fall apart in very few years.
i mean i am sure it beats all import cars if you compare it by power to dollar, but i like how my interior stays together unlike fords. this is coming from someone who's own fords before.

Flame me if i am wrong. I know nothing about american cars except they are fast like none other and they have gobs of tq.
for 35k, couldn't you make a WRX faster..? Or, in the price range, would you rather buy an EVO VII or an STi?
But 12's stock..
that thing swill spank around our R's on the road course(probably) and in a straight line.

It's an Eaton M112 Roots blower. And the IRS holds up pretty damn well, I have a friend with a Sonic Blue 03 and another with an Oxford White 03, my bud with the blue one has autocrossed it a couple times and done pretty damn well, and is doing a bunch of suspension stuff to it and going to start road racing it next season. Nice cars, really torquey, underrated from the factory, and they're modded REALLY easily.
