Okay before any panels or wires are cut..one question needs to be answered
Is this car an auto or manual trans....if it is a Manual...do NOT attempt this installation....Yes it can be done on a manual car...but it is not something that a Novice should Attempt under any circumstance.

If the car is an auto...you need to prep the alarm for install. By prepping you will group wires that are going to common areas in the vehicle(by doing this the alarm will be easier to install or troubleshoot...not to mention it wont look like wire spaghetti)..ie wires that need to be made under the hood..siren,tach,safety switch...you get the idea.

Any questions...drop a line more than happy to help.

Im about to try and install a Viper 550ESP alarm in my crx...problem is, I dont know where some of theses wires go, these are the ones im clueless on...

MAIN HARNESS
1) (-)550 mA output when armed orange wire on starter kill relay
2) (-/+) parking light output fuse box
3) (-) activation unit remote control or a negative grounding button
4) 200 mA domelight output dont worry about it, requires a relay and experiance to know how to install
5) (-)door trigger input zone 3 drivers side kick panel
6) (-)mux trigger input zone 4 hood and trunk pin switches, diode isolate this wire
7) (+)door trigger input zone 3 wire not needed
8) (-)chassis ground gound to car
9) 200 mA channel 2 output not needed for basic install

REMOTE START HARNESS
1) (-)status/factory rearm not needed no factory alarm on this car
2) (-)third ignition output not needed no 3rd ignitiion wire on hondas
3) (-)hood pinswitch input zone 1 pinswitch under hood
4) (+)brake switch shutdown brake pedal harness, wire goes positive when brake pedal is depressed
5) tachometer input blue wire on distrubutor
6) (-)nuetral safety input wire can be grounded, easist way to do it, but not the correct way, basically if this wire is grounded then the car wont start, there is a wire on automatic cars that is grounded when in park, i dont know what wire you need

REMOTE START RIBBON HARNESS
1) (+)12V input
2) (+)Ignition input
3) (-)200mA ignition relay
4) (-)200mA accessory relay
5) (-)200mA starter relay

dont worry about this ribbon harness it plugs into the 550esp brain box

you will need to run wires for the relay heavy gauge wires to the ignition harness under the dash

last, if this car is automatic do some reasearch on the install to make it look good and have fun doing it, i do it all the time and love doing it. if its a manual you will need to bypass and ground the neutral saftey switch first it can be done but most installers dont like installing remote starters on manual trannys cause if you leave the car in gear the can and will drive or move forward if left in gear.

hope all that helped you understand a little better

Maybe its me but I have a problem with novices doing remotes starts on manual trans vehicle ( not to mention I walk with a slight limp because i was pinned to a wall by customers car who had a homey install a remote start on the car ) Not being biased...its just that many novices dont heed the words of wisdom and take shortcuts....many times with diasterous results.

I preech the same way, I did my own remote start (see other post, and i'm still considering getting a proper unit) but unless your feeling confident enough to stand in front of your car in gear and hit the button afterwards, then get a unit designed for remote start.

Audioroach man, that accident just is plain (client) stupidity, I hope you had your way and taught the guy a lesson.

Well Rage...lets say I'm glad that my installer backed the car in near the retaining wall ( appox 5-6 ft) after we installed the deck instead of toward the street ( a longer run would have torn *** into traffic) and X-mas was Very..very goodthat year..so was the previous years family vacation ...BUt im glad to be here in one piece it could have been worse, much worse....the kid had hit trees, shrubs, garage other family members cars ( minor bumps really) I was the first person that was hit by the car...who knows how many other cars were tagged and no one was notified. ( young, dumb and thought it was cool)..I went to place oem radio into car because installer had forgot to and to grab another car and my guy pressed the AUX button thinking it would pop the hatch on the camaro...well you can guess the rest.

Question about 96 accord lx trunk.
I noticied that on my car theres a plug for the trunk on the trunk lid that plugs into the lacth. The wires on that plug is black and red. Is this a power trunk?
Do i still need a solenoid for the alarm?
thanks for your patience, i am new at alarms.
***nevermind i figured it out, that plug is for the dash light****

Sup guys,
First thanks to INFINKC for helping out with my alarm install.
Second i have some problems:
The ignition kill isnt working, i can start the car while the alarm is armed.
The wiring diagram shows this:

Is the starter wire the IGNITION wire?
So does this mean that i have to actually CUT the ignition wire and connect one end of it to the brown wire that goes in the alarm and the other brown wire goes to the ignition wire from the car?
also i got some wires from the that is not hooked up, i dont know where to hook them up.
Door Trigger +
Hood/trunk trigger -
armed output -

The model of the alarm is Black Widow BW 2150
Thanks for the help.

cut the STARTER wire, not the ignition wire. the + door trigger is not needed cause honda uses a negative door trigger, the - hood and trunk is for hood and trunk pins, you can catch the trunk at the fuse box but the hood will require a hood pin be installed, and you dont need the - armed output for anything right now, dei alarms this wire is hooked up to starter kill relay but yours is already built in..

at my shop we had a customers car do a similar thing. he left it in gear (reverse) and when i disarmed it the reverse lights came on and the car started and proceded to drive into our shop. luckily the car was lined up between the garage doors and only hit the building and not the customers cars or my toolbox. we later learned that the customer started his car a few days later and it took off down the street and into the front steps of a bar about 150 yards down the street. he found his car propped up backwards on the steps trying to restart its self. then after hitting a dumpster later that week he also hit a dumpster before deciding to get it removed. lesson learned; $250 for a car starter, $0 do it your self install, $1200 damage to a building, unfixed damage to the car, $60 for me to remove the alarm, priceless that NOBODY got hurt! please think about the outcome of a remote start before putting one on your manual transmission before you do it.

some ppl just dont get it i guess.
that guy was pretty stupid.

i have an auto now, but when i had a stick i ALWAYS put the gear in neutral and engage the parking brake.

hell, i even do it on my auto. i stop the car, pull up the parking brakes then turn the ignition off. then i cant get my key out, cause it needs to be in park hehe
damm, a good stick habit thats hard to break for auto cars.
