Default SRS Light, module reset

I tried the SRS Module reset and it works, but the light comes
right back on after a few minutes or miles. Module is probably bad,
least thats what the OBD II says. My Question, after I disconnect the
battery and remove the SRS module, can I reconnect the batt and drive
the car?? 1997 Honda Accord 4dr V6. I realize I will not have a functioning
airbag system til I find a replacement module. Thanks, John

Have the airbags gone off? The SRS module is one time use, and has to be replaced with the airbags. You can just keep driving with the bad module in, or take it out, it won't affect anything except for the airbags.

What I've learned so far, yes you can run without it, and it is not one time
use, it can be reset and it can be repaired. If you have had the bags go off
a hard code it entered into the module, it can be cleared. If the light is just on, you've had no crashes and the clock spring is good, the module is bad, and may need to be replaced. I've found someone who claims he can repair
them in any event unless water damaged.

It's hit or miss with having the module reset. I know somebody that fixes salvaged cars for a living and has dealt with having SRS modules reset, and the module doesn't always work when it comes back. It'll probably cost about the same price either to have it reset, or a buy a used one that hasn't deployed.

You have to fix whatever's wrong with the airbag system.
