Good afternoon Honda-Tech,
I am refinishing my Racing Hart Type C 3pc rims, (replacing the hardware, repolishing the lips, and customizing the face), and came across a question regarding the hardware of the rims.
Is it possible to use allen bolts instead of the 12 point bolts that the rim currently came with?
The reason I ask is because in my opinion, the allen bolts will give a cleaner look and will be less prone to wear when it comes time to maintenance the rims. I was planning on using some ARP bolts and hardware but came across this idea and wondered if anyone has had any success or failure with it.
If there is a link that discusses this then please refer me to it; I have been searching for an hour or so and didn't come up with anything relevant. Maybe I'm not using the right search criteria.
Thanks again for any input,
Oscar

As long as you put in the same grade hardware as you're removing (or stronger), you'll be fine using whichever style bolt head you prefer. I've seen all sorts of bolts used in this application.

I was assuming the same but you know what happens when you assume... you become a ricer.
But thanks for your input toyomatt84.
